We believe your reading habits and language learning journey are personal. LearnA is designed with a privacy-first architecture:
- No User Account Required: You do not need to register with an email, name, or password to use LearnA.
- Local-First Storage: Your saved vocabulary, reading progress, and imported books are stored directly on your personal device.
- No Data Selling: We never sell, rent, or monetize your personal data to third parties.
- No Ad Tracking: We do not include third-party advertising SDKs or participate in cross-app ad tracking.
2. Information We Collect
To provide core app functionality and manage premium subscriptions, we collect limited non-personal and technical information:
- Anonymous Device Identifier: We generate and securely store an anonymous unique identifier in your device's Keychain. This identifier allows us to recognize your device across reinstalls to maintain your subscription status without linking to your real identity.
- Technical & Diagnostic Data: We may collect non-identifiable device details such as app version, operating system version (e.g., iOS 18), device model (e.g., iPhone), and selected language to ensure app compatibility and push remote configuration updates.
- Subscription & Purchase Information: When you purchase LearnA PRO, transaction processing is handled securely by Apple via the App Store. We receive anonymized transaction receipts through our subscription infrastructure (RevenueCat) to unlock premium features. We never see or store your credit card or financial details.
- Locally Stored Data: The words you save, flashcard mastery states, personal bookmarks, reading progress, and custom imported books (.epub or .txt) remain stored locally on your device via SwiftData and are not transmitted to our servers.
3. Third-Party Services
LearnA integrates trusted third-party service providers solely to power core features:
- RevenueCat: Used to manage in-app subscriptions and validate Apple App Store receipts. (Privacy Policy)
- Google Firebase (Firebase Core, Firestore & Remote Config): Used to deliver remote configuration (e.g., app version checks) and synchronize anonymous subscription status to prevent duplicate purchases. (Privacy Policy)
- Apple System Frameworks: On-device translation and speech synthesis are provided through Apple's native APIs (Translation Framework, AVFoundation). These processes adhere strictly to Apple's privacy guidelines.
4. Notifications
If you grant notification permissions, LearnA schedules local, on-device notifications to remind you of your daily reading and vocabulary review goals. These reminders are processed entirely on your device and do not involve remote tracking or external servers.
5. Children's Privacy
LearnA does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). Our curated library consists of classic literary texts and educational vocabulary tools suitable for all audiences.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your reading history, saved words, and custom books are stored locally, deleting the LearnA application from your device immediately removes all local data. If you wish to request deletion of your anonymous device record from our subscription database, you may contact us with your Anonymous Device ID.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within this document along with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App following any modifications signifies your acceptance of the revised policy.
